Mt. Pleasant is extending our Adoption Hours as of May 1:
- Tuesday & Thursday, 12-7
- Wednesday & Friday, 12-4
- Saturday and Sunday, 12-5
- Closed Mondays and all major holidays
Mt. Pleasant is closed to the public in the mornings so that the staff can clean and feed our animals. This allows us to better service you when we are open for adoptions. We appreciate your understanding.
Animal Surrenders are by appointment only. Please call (973) 386-0590 ext

FROM ROUTE 280 WEST:
Take Exit 4A to Eisenhower Parkway (exit wraps you to the right, follow road then continue straight). At the fourth light (the Olive Garden is on the right) make a right onto Route 10 West. Continue approximately 2 miles passing Home Depot, Wesco Dinettes. At Petsmart, make a right into the store driveway. The Shelter is located directly behind the Petsmart.
FROM THE GARDEN STATE PARKWAY/NEW JERSEY TURNPIKE:
Take the Parkway to Exit 145, Route 280 West. Same as above.
FROM ROUTE 287:
Take the exit for Route 10 East. Continue on Route 10 East past Novartis Pharmaceuticals, past Loews. Take the next U-turn less than one mile after the Loews Theatres (you'll see a Sunoco on the corner). Turn back onto Route 10 West and get immediately in the right lane. You will pass Wesco Dinettes. At Petsmart, make a right into the store driveway. The Shelter is located directly behind the Petsmart.
FROM ROUTE 80:
Take the Route 287 exit. Same as above.
FROM THE MEADOWLANDS, LINCOLN TUNNEL:
Take Route 3 West to Route 46 West to Route 80 West. Continue on Route 80 to the Route 287 South exit. Same as above.
FROM NEWARK AIRPORT/ROUTES 78 and 24:
From the airport you'll follow signs toward Routes 1 & 9 and you'll see a sign for Route 78 West. Take 78 West to Route 24 West (the highway actually splits off). You'll take 24 West to the JFK Parkway (next to Short Hills Mall). You'll stay on JFK Parkway and then make a left onto Columbia Turnpike. You'll see the Livingston Mall (New Jersey is famous for its malls!). You'll make a right at the mall onto Eisenhower Parkway. Take Eisenhower Parkway to the Livingston Circle. Once you get to the circle, you'll want to go "left" onto Route 10 West.
